Two Questions for Your New Year

How are you feeling today? I mean how are you really feeling, whether you are reading this January 1st or the 15th? If you are feeling a bit hung-over from the holiday, after too much sugar, shopping, or socializing, you may be highly inspired to make your familiar list of New Year’s Resolutions.
Instead of risking not being part of the 8% who actually have success with their resolutions, why not focus on how you want to feel this year? Whatever we focus on expands, and when we focus how we want to feel, it motivates us to choose the right action to get there.
I don’t (usually) follow my diet so strictly because I’m particularly disciplined or a purist. I avoid certain foods (sugar, gluten, dairy) because I like to feel energetic and I know my chances are much better if I choose to eat what is good for me. Here are two questions to help you choose what is good for you. Use my examples or create your own:

- Get up earlier
- Go to bed earlier
- Keep a log of my food, workouts, meditation, spending, etc
- Drink wine only on weekends
- Practice mindfulness meditation 5 minutes a day
- Connect with the people who are important to me
- Say no to ________
- Plan an adventure
- Create auto-deposit for my retirement account
- Decrease my time online
- Schedule my exercise, meditation, yoga
- Plan my meals
Only you know how you want to feel and what you are willing to do (and keep doing) to get there. Whatever you choose, begin today. Do one thing that gets you closer to how you want to feel to create your Happy New Year!
